Breed
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Spent quite a while trying to find a strat that works and couldn't, I think the key is the P/P etherwyrm, which I am off to Bastion to find.

Mordred#1140

wrote on 2024-01-05 09:48:14

The top-rated strat does not work. Startail destroys both Voidglower and the Peachick effortlessly.

After going through these, I think what Xu-Fu needs to do is remove all of these and just admit they don't have a viable strat that has even a reasonable chance of succeeding. (edited)

Gráinne

wrote on 2024-01-05 14:04:01

There are several people who investigate reports of problems with strategies on Xu-Fu's. There are designated Strategy Curators, and other regulars who read comments and are interested in the latest.

In my experience, when people leave a short "It didn't work" note, they usually made a mistake. Maybe they used a pet with the wrong Speed, maybe they didn't do a Pass where it was indicated, sometimes they were even using the team and strat from a completely different battle. :)

Sometimes there genuinely is a problem with the strat. This is where the Curators and others come in, checking the strat for weaknesses, and fixing it or removing it if it can't be fixed.

Since most failure reports with no details are wrong, it's not good to waste people's time investigating them. Instead, help them by providing the information they need.

If the strat failed for you, and you want your comment to be taken seriously:

1. Specify EXACTLY which species and breeds you used.

2. Specify whether you read the strategy from the site and executed it manually, or downloaded and used the tdScript.

3. Specify EXACTLY where the first unexpected thing happened, the first thing that deviated from what the strat predicts. What died too early? What didn't die when it was supposed to? What attack missed?

4. If possible, provide a log. You can see your log in the Pet Battle tab of your chat box. You can pull that out, make it bigger, screenshot it. Better still, you can use the addon Battle Pet Log Keeper from Curseforge, and do /pblk and Save Battle when the battle you want to log is complete.

Almost any strat can fail to a really unlucky string of crits, and some difficult challenge strats like the Family ones may fail more than anyone likes, but the people behind this site do their best to promote well-working strats. Do your part. Provide useful information.

I did not have a P/P Wild Etherwyrm, but I went ahead anyway with my S/S version out of curiosity.

It took me two attempts, but an S/S Wild Etherwyrm does work (if not as reliably). If Voidglower can live long enough to use Cyclone a second time, both Star Tail's and Needlenose's health should be low enough that Wild Etherwyrm can one-shot them with Blinkstrike (after first using Arcane Storm). One Surge of Power as instructed, and Brite went splat.

Feel free to try out what I did if you're in similar circumstance. Just please remember that this is a modification to the strategy, so don't complain to the author if it doesn't work! (edited)

Ata wrote on 2020-12-30 09:47:22

Did not have a voidglower or peachick leveled, but this strat worked with Bumbles in slot 1 (1,2,2) and an Axebeak Hatchling in slot 2 for rain dance (2,1,1). My eterwyrm was only level 23 so it cut it close at the end but worked as written. Thanks!

I had different breeds for both breed specific pets here (both PS), and it didn't work the first time, however if the final step had been to use Blink if Brite was >1200, it would have been perfect. The second time, Brite was well under. Thanks for the strat!

I tried this with a P/B Albatross Chick (1, 1, 2). After my Royal Peachick died, I brought the Albatross Chick back in, and used Cyclone, then Lift-Off, and then Slicing Wind until the Albatross Chick died. Then I brought in my P/S Wild Etherwyrm and went back to this strat. Maybe I just got lucky with crits, but it worked first time.

Thanks for the substitution tip!

Corgi

I had really bad luck the first try - my Voidglower is H/S, not S/S, and I got whacked with two stuns during the fight, so it really fell apart. Second try, I switched things up just a bit - did a Poison Protocol after the first cyclone; my Peachick took a hard hit and died early, so a Voidglower Poison Lash before the Protocol came available again, and died before the 2nd Cyclone. This set things up for the Etherwyrm to take out Star Tail and Needlenose very neatly, and Blink died appropriately.

(OP) Rosqo

S/s voidglower is specifically so that it goes first and the sleep doesn't stop the strategy from working.

worked just fine with an S/B Voidglower, and for some reason I don't know what breed my Wild Etherwyrm is (pet battle addon might be hiding it).

Arcane Winds confused me so much it's either Arcade Storm or Wild Winds.

Third time worked. Thought I had the wrong spell. It is Arcane Storm not Arcane Winds
