Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

9.1 Worked for me, but my first pet got down to 30hp by the time their first pet died. My pets were S/S and P/P for anyone hoping to replicate, not sure if breed comes into play here

Worked fine for me. Anklerender did die before the first enemy pet did though, but my EPW finished the other two easily.

This unfortunately did not work at all. Brought out my Dragonkin team and totally demolished him. Will proably do a Strategi guide for this later.

Ecto killed my anklerender and my darkmoon zep and still had half health

Had to use my emerald to finish off the ecto and solo the last two - didnt feel right, next time will use a different strat

Same issue here. P/S Anklerender died and Ecto had 234hp left. I forfeited after he was destroying my Emerald Whelp.

I don't understand all the comments saying the Anklerender soloes this fight. My P/S Anklerender died to the Ectoplasm before Hunting Party could complete. Ecto hits like a truck with his 25% damage increase per turn and slaughtered Anklerender by turn 3.

However, the strat and TD Script still work, as Ecto only had about 51 health left. P/P EPW came out and finished off all 3 pets. Thanks!

Gráinne

wrote on 2020-08-11 15:02:45

The Anklerender soloing may depend on the breed of the Anklerender, RNG in the form of crits, and which two random backup pets you get. Some degree of randomness is built into everything that happens in pet battles. That's why we bring backup pets! :)

Sneaks wrote on 2018-08-15 22:12:00

I have three Mechanical Pandaren Dragonlings (because man, are those things useful!), so I had one to use on this fight. It managed to solo the entire thing with breath, decoy, and thunderbolt.

Decoy on cooldown, spam breath until the ectoplasm dies, thunderbolt when the second pet comes out, then thunderbolt and decoy on cooldown afterward, breath between.

YMMV though, as I may have gotten lucky with RNG.

GamingSnob#1482

wrote on 2018-07-23 23:35:17

Zandalari Anklerender frequently solos this.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-06-17 03:13:46

My Zandalari Anklerender P/P Breed soloed this fight.

Broadway wrote on 2018-04-04 17:17:39

Not anymore, my P/P died before Glowing Ectoplasm was 80% and cost the entire fight and my emerald proto-whelp

Elemjay wrote on 2017-08-10 05:42:02

The Zandalari Kneebiter has the same attacks, but you'll have to go 2, 2, 1.

Gardenia wrote on 2017-04-13 21:30:19

I found a good second pet to use on this fight is a Mechanical Squirrel 1-1-1. Once your Anklerender is down, bring in the Mech Squirrel, hit Wind Up, use a Metal Fist to finish off the first raptor, and then when the second raptor comes in use Wind Up again to one-shot it.

Rzzr wrote on 2017-04-16 11:12:30

Worked a treat. Loved the way it one-shot the last raptor!

Macgam wrote on 2017-06-29 15:09:13

Mech Squirrel is a great cleanup pet here.

Solitha wrote on 2017-06-29 04:59:47

This has worked for me before, but tonight I ran across a problem. Hunting Party has a 4-round cooldown... so after the second enemy comes in, it is not available.

David G wrote on 2017-05-22 11:38:41

Make sure the Zandalari Ankle render is P/S breed. That's crucially important here. If you use a P/P breed, it's the same speed as the Ectoplasm (276), and therefore the Ectoplasm has a 50/50 chance of going first. Being faster slightly reduces your damage from P/P, but makes sure you get that last hit in.

Note that using an S/S or a P/B Anklerender are even worse than P/P, because the S/S is too weak to be effective, and the extra speed over a P/S is completely wasted, and P/B has the same speed as P/P, i.e. 276, or same speed as the Ectoplasm, and is weaker in its attacks.

Flarestar wrote on 2017-05-31 09:08:03

I've used an s/s breed anklerender every week using this strat and it turns out fine

Apple wrote on 2017-06-04 19:15:38

SimianRex wrote on 2017-06-01 00:31:47

Just a heads up for anyone using the script for this one: Because the strategy has you bringing in your second random pet, you'll need to manually run the fight for the second pet. When the second pet dies, the script will take back over. (Unless of course your second pet is an emerald proto-whelp or a dream whelpling!)

Malicedoll wrote on 2017-05-03 13:52:45

Sunblade Micro-Defender is also a good secondary pet for this battle, (1,1,1) he was able to clean up the 2 secondary pets right away. (Shock and Awe, interrupting jolt and couple of zap's)

Miyka wrote on 2017-05-01 10:52:37

I used the strat posted with a P/B Zandalari Anklerender. My Anklerender died to the Ectoplasm in Round 2 due to bad RNG. The EPW was able to finish the fight np. Just wanted to note that it is possible to not kill Ecto with P/B.

Macgam wrote on 2017-03-30 13:37:41

Used Stormborne Whelping 122 (P/S) as 2nd pet. It cleaned up very nicely - did not even use EPW.

Caverra wrote on 2017-04-30 13:20:27

Excellent choice! Also did not need EPW.

Veyska wrote on 2017-04-04 00:57:22

Dream Whelpling and Emerald Whelpling both have the same ability line-up available as the Emerald Proto-Whelp is using above, which can come in handy in a no-heals set-up. (FWIW, Dream Whelping can get the same exact breeds as the Emerald Proto-Whelp, while Emerald Whelpling's limited to H/S.)

Hermy wrote on 2017-04-02 15:24:54

This works well, but you can't do Turns 1+ after Growing Ectoplasm is dead, as Hunting Party will be on cooldown. (Mine died after Black Claw, so it was kind of moot, but ... :)

Failed with the Cinder Pup strat, so I used:

Lil' XT (1, 2, 2) - XE-321 Boombot first, Heartbroken second and Zap straight after. From there, it was a fairly easy kill. I used Rascal-Bot (1, 1, 2) to clean up, didn't need a third pet.
